Map of our area

The area outlined in purple shows the area South Lancashire Bat Group covers.  There is some overlap with our neighboring local bat groups (North Lancashire Bat Group, West Lancashire and Merseyside Bat Group, Cheshire Bat Group, East Lancashire Bat Group, West Yorkshire Bat Group and Derbyshire Bat Conservation Group) but if you are in any doubt, for urgent bat welfare advice, just leave a message on our batline, on 0161 7648850, and one of our volunteers will get back to you.

If you have found an injured bat and its in the marked area, there is no need to call anyone else, and please do not take it anywhere else if you have called us, even if advised by others to do so, as we have a very dedicated, active helpline and network of bat carers and ambulance drivers and every bat call we’ve had in the last 24 years has been dealt with by our volunteers.

The ‘borders’ are considered ‘soft’ so we will arrange activities with the relevant neighbouring bat group, outside of this marked area, and will, where possible, cover injured bat calls outside of this area, although we make no guarantees of collection outside the marked lines as these are the general limits to our volunteers travel ranges.

A number of our volunteers live or work outside these area’s so may be able to collect bats on their way to/from work/home, so its worth trying us, but also any other carers either provided by the Bat Conservation Trust’s National Bat Care Helpline, or other local bat groups.
